UPDATE COMING SOON (October 2006) - NEW LECTURE NOTES ARE AVAILABLE FROM SCOTSAC WEBSITE - POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FREE FROM DON'S DIVE STORE - SEE LINKS.
The files from the above sites are big, and it might be better getting a copy on CD rather than downloading them, unless you have fast broadband.
The lecture notes below were the basis for the lectures we have before each of our Wednesday pool sessions. ScotSAC's Diving Manual now explains some of these thing better or in more detail. New members get a copy of the Manual in return for part of their fees.
The links below will open up a new browser window. Due to the fairly intensive graphics
content of some of the lectures, it may take a bit of time for the page to load (that last comment was written in the days of slow modems, well before broadband!). Don't e-mail us to grump about it ... you are getting them for free, and, yes... you can print them off
as you need. When you wish to return to this page, just close the new browser window !!!
If you have any problems with the lectures, then please let us know, so we can remedy the
problem.
Reading these lectures alone does not qualify anyone in the use of SCUBA equipment.
These lectures should be used as part of a recognised training programme, organised by a recognised agency (e.g.SSAC,BSAC,PADI,SAA.).
Feel free to use this material to help with your SCUBA training. Information contained in these lectures is believed to be accurate. Peeblesshire SAC accepts no responsibility for their use.
The Club also has a number of useful training videos
Diver Emergency Surface Locatation Devices
Deep Trouble
Dive Safely
and a DVD on Risk Assessment for Dive organisers.
